Broken legs!

Only twenty odd days to go before we head off for Aconcagua, so we are putting in the training hours. Last Sun I did what must have been one of the hardest days of training so far. I’ve called it the Bennachie challenge……….
I left at 6.00am from the house, got to the car park at the base at 6.30 and headed up, I had a day pack with me, weighing only 10 KG. The challenge that I had set myself was to climb Benachie 10 times in the one day. I had set myself the whole day for the challenge but to my amazement, after 16.2 KM and 2174 altitude mtrs ascended, it took me only 6 hours and I didn’t feel that fatigued. But, and I mean a big but, three days on and it feels like I’m recovering from 1683 mad cows running a mock upon my legs. Linzie bumped my leg in bed last night and I woke up jumping about 6 inches off the bed ! I can’t even touch them, if I sit for anything more than 5 mins, I have to learn to walk again every time I stand up.
Linzie and I have jumped on the train to Glasgow today, to do some last min crimbo shopping and the people on the train wouldn’t talk to me because they think I’m drunk!
I do intend to go back again though, as soon as my legs will let me……………..
Thanks to Niall Mckenzie who joined me on two and a half of the ascents, which broke the monotony, kept me company.
I will be keeping my blog updated every day that I can when we are away.
